Y Gwynedd Access Statement
This access statement for Y Gwynedd is an honest description of the current situation which we hope will enable potential guests and customers to make an informed decision as to how we meet their needs.
- The Main entrance (which gives access to reception, the lounge bar and the restaurant) is directly at street level. There are no steps though you do have to cross over the door frame (approx 15mm)
- All of the reception, lounge bar and restaurant is on the ground floor with no steps. There are two steps leading up to the lounge bar toilets, but toilets are also available in the restaurant which have no steps to them.
- All our bedrooms are on the first floor, which are 15 steps up a straight staircase. There is no lift.
- All rooms have cordless kettles, satellite TV, Tea & Coffee making facilities, hairdryer and a direct dial telephone (internal calls only). All rooms are centrally heated with individually adjustable radiators. All rooms are ensuite.
- Our menus are also available in large print by request. All our staff could read the menu out to those who require it. We always have a tasty selection of meat, fish & vegetarian dishes & special diets can be catered for by request.
- We have in place procedures for communicating with people with impaired hearing. This includes safety issues such as flashing lights in the unlikely event of a fire alarm or other important announcement.
- Lighting levels are adjustable in both the lounge bar and the restaurant.
- We allow well behaved dogs in the lounge bar (on a lead). They are not normally allowed in the restaurant area for heath & hygiene reasons (except assistance dogs) We no longer accept pets in the bedrooms due to allergies.
- Since the smoking ban came into force in Wales on Monday, 2nd April 2007, Smoking is not permitted anywhere on site.
- All our bedrooms are fitted with sensitive smoke detectors and are strictly NON SMOKING as is the rest of the building.
- Wireless Internet is available for guests throughout the building and is free.
- At all times a member of staff is available should our guests need help or assistance. During the night, emergency help can be summoned by ringing the bell at reception, calling ‘0’ on the bedroom telephones or calling the main hotel telephone number.
